Full Circle

I received a Special Commendation for a Photographic Artwork in the 2017 Biological Arts Competition for my photo entry of a Hakea cucullata, titled "Full Circle"

To me, the overlapping leaves forming a full circle symbolises the interconnectedness of nature – all of the individual parts must work together to form a whole. This image reminds me that in order to truly understand and conserve an ecosystem, we must work together to understand all of its components and all of their interactions.

Carnivorous plants

Carnivorous plants are so often portrayed as monstrous flesh-eating creatures, but in reality they are incredibly beautiful and come in all sorts of shapes, sizes, colours, and textures… here’s a few of my favs!
